Girl Scout Treasure Box - A Reward System for Girl Scouts!

Girl Scout Reward System

My daughter's Girl Scout leader asked if I could make a treasure box for a reward system they were implementing with the girls.  This is what I came up with.
  • Bought a raw wood treasure box from Michael's craft store.
  • Stained with left over stain I had in the garage
  • Used sharpie oil based markers in light & dark green to paint the Girl Scout emblem on both ends.
  • Put two coats of polyurethane to protect it.
  • Then stand back and admire your work!
The design isn't as solid as it looks in the picture.  It  has a slightly more opaque look because I used the sharpie markers.  If you want something completely solid like this looks I would use paint and a brush but I was in a hurry and didn't have time.  Thanks to Shelly (my sister) and brother-in-law for  helping me with deciding on a design (I'm very indecisive).

As far as I know when the girls are on their "best" behavior they get to pick some sort of toy/trinket out of the box at the end of the meeting.

Cheap Christmas Present From Rue La La

I love early Christmas shopping especially when it's cheap & I don't have to even leave the house. Whoo Hoo.  I was on another site and someone mentioned that they had credits in their Rue La La account.  I thought what the heck I will sign into mine and see if I had any.  I forgot I had even signed up.  Sure, enough I had $30!!! What the heck?  Apparently, they deposit credits from time to time into your account to entice you to come back.  This is what had happened.  But, if you have friends that sign up using your referral link you get $10 for their first order!  Go ahead sign up!

Using my $30 I bought this adorable "Dalmatian Vet Kit" for only $4.85 after my credit.  I'm sure I could have found something cheaper and been out $0 but I thought this was cute and would make for a cute present under the tree.

Happy Shopping.  Again here is THE LINK if you want to sign up! Go get your free money too!

Cute Bumble Bee Costume
Here is what my girls were this year for Halloween.  They were too easy!  Payton's classs two weeks before Halloween informed me that their costumes had be a book character.  Great.  Thankfully she was Little Red Riding Hood last year and agreed to be it again this year.  Usually, I wouldn't do this but simpler the better this year was my motto. Emmy was a recycled bumble bee that Payton was at this age.  Aren't they too cute!
