Girl Scout Valentine's!

My little Girl Scout wanted to take some Valentine's to her troop.  But being the mom I am I couldn't just have her take the generic type.  I looked online and couldn't find any Girl Scout oriented Valentine's.  Say what?  No Girl Scout Valentine's.  Say it ain't so.  It ain't so...anymore.

Here is what I came up with.  Sucker wrapper Valentine's especially for Girl Scouts.

Again this isn't the greatest picture because I was too lazy to get out my big girl camera:0

Girl Scout Treasure Box - A Reward System for Girl Scouts!

Girl Scout Reward System

My daughter's Girl Scout leader asked if I could make a treasure box for a reward system they were implementing with the girls.  This is what I came up with.
  • Bought a raw wood treasure box from Michael's craft store.
  • Stained with left over stain I had in the garage
  • Used sharpie oil based markers in light & dark green to paint the Girl Scout emblem on both ends.
  • Put two coats of polyurethane to protect it.
  • Then stand back and admire your work!
The design isn't as solid as it looks in the picture.  It  has a slightly more opaque look because I used the sharpie markers.  If you want something completely solid like this looks I would use paint and a brush but I was in a hurry and didn't have time.  Thanks to Shelly (my sister) and brother-in-law for  helping me with deciding on a design (I'm very indecisive).

As far as I know when the girls are on their "best" behavior they get to pick some sort of toy/trinket out of the box at the end of the meeting.

Girl Scout End of The Year Party!

Remember the Girl Scout end of the year party I helped with?  Well it has finally come and gone and I must say it was one of the easiest parties I have done.  I am a I can do it all by myself person but with this one I just didn't want to and the Troop Leader suggested I enlist help. Wow, I think I am sounding like a 3 year old.  Even though this isn't my style usually.... I did as I was told and I am so happy I did.

I found signupgenius.com from my daughter's first grade teacher this year.  She uses the site for organizing her class parties.  Let me say I am impressed. It allows you to see what is needed so you can choose what you want to bring and you can also see what has already been signed up for.  Here is a snapshot of what it looks like when you set up a party or something else that needs organzing that you need to do with several people.

Girl Scout sign up genius manager

Isn't it cute? They even have themes.  The only thing I don't like is the advertisments they have on the pages.  But, I understand because the site is free.  It will even send reminders to the people that have signed up.  Genius.  Hmmm, wonder why they call it signupgenius?  Just kidding. Anyways I was no way compensated for telling you how wonderful signupgenius.com is I just thought it is a great way to organize an event.
Personalized Girl Scout Water Bottles
Here are the water bottles I created with all the scout's names on the bottles. Loved them!  The girls loved them too.  They liked finding their names on all the party stuff. I sell the girl scout water bottle wraps from my blog and not on Etsy. Contact me if you'd like to purchase the digital file. mspaytonjones@yahoo.com

Girl Scout Water Bottle or Drink Container

Girl Scout Water bottle

I volunteered to help with my daughter's end of the year Girl Scout party.

This is what I came up with.  I used this same idea also for the Batman party I helped plan.   I topped the water bottles off with a brown and white polka dotted ribbon just to make it cuter for presentation and because they will now be officially be Brownies and no longer Daisy's. My little girl is getting so BIG!

Update: I sell something similar to this now in my Etsy Shop.

Apparently, you can't sell anything remotely related to Girl Scouts. Even the flippin words Girl Scouts are trademarked and removed them from my Etsy shop.

Update: 2019 Fully stocked for this season!

5/15/18 less than 20 water bottles left.

5/18/17 UPDATE I ONLY HAVE 40 WATER BOTTLES LEFT!!!

Contact me about placing your order! mspaytonjones@yahoo.com

2/5/17 UPDATE: Reordering stock today. Order soon! I sold completely out last year before the end of Girl Scout season! Looks like the bottles will be back to the longer one's (like the first picture above)

Girl Scout Door Hanger - For Cookie Sales

Girl Scout Cookie Order Door Hanger

Girl Scout Delivering Cookies
My sweet little girl and her Daddy went to sell Girl Scout cookies.  Did I think that they would come back having sold 106 boxes? Uh no. He travels....a lot.  So, I knew I would be the one having to deliver all 106 boxes.  Great.  With my toddler this would surely be fun.  So I tried to have everything orderly so we could be as proficient as possible. One thing I did make that I thought would help our delivery was make these little "we missed you" door hangers. They were easy and simple enough. Last thing I wanted to do was have to do this outing more than once.  But in the end I was over the moon she was happy that she had sold all the boxes, made the multiple sales, and had the interaction with adults to help her speaking abilities.

Update 2013: These are now available in my Etsy shop. I sell these here on my site. Contact me: mspaytonjones@yahoo.com and I will start your order.

Girl Scout Cookie Order
We also made thank you notes that I thought were adorable.  We saw this version of the idea here. Again, with the same theme of proficiency I added a place for the buyer's name and amount owed. I used a thin tip Sharpie to fill it in. I left space on the left side to hole punch so it could be threaded though the ribbon for the boxes that were together. This did not work out. The cards were too bulky for the tied boxes. Thankfully, the thank you note slipped easily between the ribbon.  Orders that had four or more boxes were put into gift bags. The thank you note did get tied to the ribbon and those looked cute.
